The final match took place on Thursday with NHS and Randburg batting against each other. In the third and fourth play-off Garsfontein played JR Academy. Stephan Meyer from NHS said making it to the final is a major honour.

“The boys played good cricket this week and the experience they got from it will be valuable going into the season,” he said.

The hosting school, Penryn, did not go through to the semi-finals, but had two outstanding individual performances.

“Ryan Moffett was top scorer with 107 runs in the tournament. Khumo Mabula took nine wickets and was second overall leading wicket taker,” said Grootboom. Hoërskool Bergvlam did not make it to the finals.

According to Bergvlam’s Pieter Pretorius, one of the players made a mark. “Suhail Patel scored 62 runs from 50 balls,” he said.
