LVCC’s 2025 bowls singles champions crowned

No fewer than 28 bowlers took part in this year's championship.

Bowlers at Lowveld Country Club (LVCC) recently battled it out for the singles champion crowns at the club’s annual Singles Bowling Championship.

A total of 16 men and 12 ladies took part in the LVCC Singles Bowling Championship on May 17 and 18. The ladies played in four sections and competed in three games on the Saturday in order to qualify for the semi-finals on the Sunday.

Jane McEndoo and Elinor Storkey met in the first semi-final on Sunday, and Toekie Botha competed against Anne Coetzee in the second semi-final. Botha and Storkey then played against each other for the title of the LVCC Singles Champion for 2025. It was Botha who was the victor, winning the trophy for the seventh time.

The 16 men competed in four sections of four games each on the Saturday. Ralph Kirsten, Joe van Aarde, Reagan Lamprecht and Deon Fereira reached the semi-final stage after some tough games. Fereira and Lamprecht won their respective games to make it through to the final.

Fereira ultimately won the LVCC Men’s Singles title for 2025. Lamprecht, a rising star in Mpumalanga bowls came second, while Van Aarde came third and Kirsten came fourth after a tough play-off game.
