Players donned their traditional white tennis kits to celebrate the occasion.

Nelspruit Tennis Club celebrated its annual Wimbledon Day on Saturday, with players wearing white on court and strawberries and cream served off it.

The menu on the courts included drop shots, smashes, long rallies and lobs.

Organised by Lowveld Tennis, in association with the club, and sponsored by SUPERSPAR Crossing, the event provided a fun-filled day for tennis enthusiasts and the community to experience the spirit of the SW19.

Players from local clubs, including Flamboyant and Panorama, attended the event, which featured social tennis and socialising.

The day began with a Wimbledon Quiz led by quiz master Willem van Wyk, which challenged players to answer 15 questions about the championship’s history, dating back to 1877.

After the games, the players gathered to share a meal and discuss tennis, with it ultimately emerging as the biggest winner of the day.
