IN PHOTOS: Hennie’s show furious bite and ferocious bark at Stonehouse 10s

The Wildcats 2.0 hit the netball courts with their claws out and won the premier league.

Hennie’s 10s successfully defended the title they won last year at the 2026 edition of the Stonehouse 10s. The tournament was held at Hoërskool Bergvlam on Saturday, March 15.

The weather on the day ranged from heavy overcast conditions, to drizzle, to torrential downpours. Play was suspended in the afternoon due to heavy rain, but did resume.

The rain added to the festive atmosphere. The vibe was electric, oozing with the gees of plattelandse rugby.

In the Premier League, Hennie’s topped the group A-log, with the Middelburg Bulldogs in second position.

The Witbank Mavericks claimed first place in group-B, with the Circufin Kudus second.

These four teams qualified for the semi-finals.

Hennie’s were made to fight hard for a 17-14 victory over the Kudus to advance to the final.

The other semi, between the Mavericks and Bulldogs, ended in a 7-7 draw. The Witbank team qualified for the final because they finished first on the log table.

The final was a thriller with both Hennie’s and the Mavericks defending well. But Hennie’s scored the only try of the match, which was not converted, to win 5-0.

Hennie’s are entitled to wag their tails as they are undefeated in 10 consecutive Stonehouse 10s matches over the 2025 and 2026 tournaments.

Eight teams competed in the Premier League.

In the Mayor’s League, UXI 2 beat Ermelo 12-7, and Emba Blitz defeated Hazyview 22-5 in the semi-finals.

The final went down to the wire, with Emba Blitz scoring a 14-12 win over UXI 2.

Ten teams made up the Mayor’s League.
