Marula House won interhouse swimming gala
Marula House of Curro had a solid victory at the interhouse school swimming gala on Tuesday afternoon.
The weather was warm and the water was cool as the swimmers all competed for their respective houses. The whole school, including age groups from primary to high school, participated. The three houses that swam were Acacia, Marula and Kiepersol. The parents and teachers attended in numbers, as the children showed of their talent and their competitiveness until late into the evening. At the end it was Acacia which finished in second place and Kiepersol last.
The results are as follows
• Primary school junior victor and victrix ludorum were Jerard Venter and Sumari Naudé, respectively.
• Primary school senior victor and victrix ludorum were Zander van der Merwe and Milla Nel, respectively.
• The high school’s victor and victrix ludorum were Ruden Jacobs and Savanna Greef, respectively.
This gala marked the kick-off of the swimming season and the event showed positive signs that this fairly new school was going to easily compete with the local institutions in
this year’s season.
