Boys gain wisdom in tourney

In a tightly contested interprovincial hockey tournament, the Mpumalanga boys u/18 A team finished sixth in the B section.

They lost out in the semi-finals due to goal difference with KwaZulu-Natal Coastals.

While they didn’t show their full capacity, the team played some great hockey.

They certainly returned wiser and more aware of contemporary style play, expectations and structures.

They have improved visibly and have begun the much-needed task of rebranding Mpumalanga hockey.

The boys’ character and behaviour were exemplary and they proved to be great ambassadors for Mpumalanga.

Ten members of the fifteen-man squad were from the Lowveld.
