Top SA rock band to perform at Emnotweni

True to its promise to bring South Africa’s biggest entertainers and bands to the Lowveld, Emnotweni announces that gracing the stage on May 3 will be multiple award-winning rock band, Prime Circle.

Fans will without a doubt be blown away by their show, which will feature songs from their latest album, Evidence, and many more of their popular hits.

Evidence confirms the band’s staying power in a fickle industry, but more than that, it marks a progression of their sound and a collision of several strands of dynamic tension and creativity, into a cohesive, often exhilarating whole.

Much of the impetus of it can be traced back to Prime Circle’s movements since the release of Jekyll & Hyde in 2010. Acknowledged by the band as a risky album, it nonetheless achieved platinum status and picked up a Best English Rock Album at the South African Music Awards in 2011 as well as an MK Award for Best International Breakthrough Act.

This album is very much geared at being played live, as Prime Circle view themselves as nomadic musicians who love being on the road. This is why they are writing material that they will get a kick out of playing on stage night after night, and that they can chop and change at whim.

“We are not playing by the rules on this one. We are still making music after all this time and are proudly doing our thing in South Africa, after many other rock bands have come and gone,” says Prime Circle singer and principal songwriter, Ross Learmonth.

Emnotweni Casino’s director of operations and complex general manager, Ig Olivier says a capacity crowd is expected for the show.

“We’re only a week away from the concert. We urge fans to book fast if they don’t want to miss this prolific rock band live right here in Nelspruit, on the arena’s stage for the very first time.”

The show will kick off at 19:00 but the doors to the arena will open early. Tickets cost R100 per person and are available at the casino’s customer-services desk.
