Celebrating the avocado
Do not miss the Brondal Avo Festival, it's going to be a fun-filled day with lots to do.

NELSPRUIT – The Brondal Avo Festival is a fun-filled family and community day out in the country focused on good foods like focaccias, braais, boerie rolls and more – all with an avo twist.
Light entertainment will be provided throughout the entire day including kiddies’ entertainment, stalls and a beer tent with big screens for the rugby.
The South African Avo Growing Association is kindly coming on board with fantastic ideas to showcase the wonderful versatility of the avo. The aim and purpose of the event is to raise funds for the Brondal area.
These get ploughed back in the area in the form of two-way radios (used by households as part of our security initiative and mobile firefighters (bakkie sakkies) strategically placed throughout the area to try and assist wherever help may be needed during the dreaded fire season.
In the past it also included support for victims of farm attacks, the local rural school – which has now sadly been closed by the government – and the local clinic and some funds had even been allocated to charities such as CANSA, the SPCA, as well as HIV/Aids educational campaigns for the staff on various farms.
The festival will offer delicious treats ranging from bacon-and-avo sandwiches, guacamole to avo on pizza and a whole lot more.
The festival, established in 2002, is a farmstyle-community event in the predominantly avocado-growing area of Brondal, 10km outside Nelspruit. It starts from 09:00 till late.
