New Audi TT: Timeless Design
The local Audi dealership has just introduced a small group of its customers to the new Audi TT, and what a beaut it is.

The TT’s initial introduction happened during the Frankfort Motorshow in 1995. In 1998 Audi followed suit by launching the TT in two derivatives – a coupé and a roadster. The name was derived from the Isle of Man TT, although some would suggest that the TT stands for “technology and tradition”.
Be that as it may, the design will probably become the standard for retro/classic and above all, timeless. The latest version being, in my mind, the most defined since its initial launch. The previous design was much “softer” than the new one.
Both derivatives are powered by a 2.0 FSI engine producing 169kW and 370Nm, which may not sound like a lot compared with other competitors in the market. The TT is not a heavy vehicle and when one considers this, the position of the engine and suspension set-up, the Quattro’s 5.3 seconds from 0-100km/h, can be considered blistering. It is, however, the complete driving experience which makes this an awesome driver’s car.
Not surprisingly, the two cars showcased during this launch, had already found owners. More stock is on its way though. So, there is still time for you to celebrate an early 2015 Christmas (R558 000 to R642 000 – alas) but, you have to make haste!
The launch was, as is always the case with the Audi team, an elegant affair – dance, music, finger treats and the rest. The TT, and quietly of course, also approved.
