The Wild Wild West under African skies

Be prepared for a shoot-out showdown

MBOMBELA – It is time to dust off those cowboy hats and boots because the Wild Wild West is soon to have a showdown at the much-anticipated A Night of 1000 Stars. This CANSA fund-raiser has been the most successful annual event on the Mbombela social calendar.

The theme this year will allow guests the opportunity to dress up like cowboys, banditos, saloon girls or even Pocahontas.

According to marketing assistant for Innibos, Mariolise Le Roux, the evening will provide for some gun-slinging moments, so be prepared for a shoot-out showdown.

Guests will also be treated to some good old-fashioned foot-tapping sounds by the The Silver Creek Mountain Band. For the south-of-the-border amigos, the band, Havana, will make them feel right at home.

Fire dancers will entertain the diners too. “Look out for a wanted sign and bring lots of money for the evening but I cannot tell you why,” Le Roux added with a smile.

She did, however, reveal there would be an auction again this year, as well as a wishing well.

This time around the participating restaurants will have a “Steak it Out” theme. Le Roux said sponsors for this year’s event are SPAR DC, Sonpark, Doug’s Hiring, Get it Lowveld and CANSA. It will take place at the Sonpark Boulevard on September 23.

Tickets will be R300 per person and include a delicious three-course meal. Part of the proceeds go to CANSA.

This social gathering is surely something not to miss and it is a great way to support a very worthy cause.
