Saddle up for a foot-stomping affair at Night of 1000 stars
This year Night of 1000 stars will cater for all dancers, even those with two left feet.
MBOMBELA – Those with so little rhythm they cannot even knock on a door, do not have to worry about being able to dance at A Night of 1000 Stars.
Well-known local band Havanna’s Wynand Mare promised to take care of that. Aside from being the group’s drummer, he is also a dance instructor.

Wynand and his wife, Ilse, formed the band in 2007.
“We perform various music, from jazz right through to contemporary,” he said. “Our motto is, life and music with passion.” The much-anticipated A Night of 1000 Stars will be held again on September 23 at the Sonpark Boulevard, under the stars.
This fund-raising event for CANSA has been one of the most successful annual events on Mbombela’s social calendar.
The theme this year will be the Wild Wild West and guests are encouraged to let their imaginations run wild. Tickets cost R300 per person and includes a delicious three-course meal. Part of these proceeds go to CANSA.
According to marketing assistant for Innibos Mariolise le Roux, the evening promises some gunslinging, so be prepared for “a showdown with a shoot-out”.
Along with Havana, guests will be treated to some good old-fashioned foot-tapping sounds from The Silver Creek Mountain Band.

Wynand will also be guiding guests in a line dance. “If you have two left feet, don’t worry, I will get you dancing.”
Fire dancers will be there to entertain the diners too. “Look out for a wanted sign and bring lots of money for the evening but I cannot tell you why,” Le Roux added mysteriously.
She did reveal there would be an auction again this year and a wishing well. This year the participating restaurants will have a “Steak It Out” theme.
Le Roux said sponsors this year are SPAR DC, Sonpark, Doug’s Hiring, Get it Lowveld and CANSA.
This social event is surely something that cannot be missed and is a great way to support a very worthy cause.
