MASHISHING – The community came to life with rumbling cars during the Volkswagen Rally launch on Saturday.
More than 40 Volkswagen vehicles from different areas in Mpumalanga participated in the competition. Some teams even wore uniforms, which added a feast of colour to the event.
The aim of the rally is to start a VW club that will get the people of the province to come together while comparing their cars’ unique features.
The owners took a show drive through Lydenburg and Mashishing. After that, the carnival drivers started competing to see whose car had the loudest sound system, as well as to show off what made their vehicles distinctive from the others.
Some cars quite literally showed flames, their exhausts proved it. Others had exclusive leather upholstery and some were just revved their cars to highlight their powerful engines.
