Latin dancing and Italian food come together at Steffano’s

Italian and Latin came together perfectly at Steffano's Trattoria on Friday evening. This restaurant at Sonpark hosted the dance group Pulse on its floor for an evening of good food and salsa.

MBOMBELA – The dance group gave Latin lessons to restaurant goers that resulted in a lot of laughter and learning a few good moves to use later in life.

“My children actually had a Latin dance party, and they suggested that we do one here as well and I thought it was a brilliant idea,” said restaurant owner Elena Potgieter.

The classes started last Friday and two more are expected for the following Fridays this month. “After that we plan to do it once a month,” said Potgieter.

“It is so much fun for us to be a part of something like this and to show people that anyone can dance,” said Pulse spokesman, Tish van Rooy.

Young and old enjoyed the classes on the dance floor and some of the adult pupils from Pulse also stopped by the restaurant to join the fun.
