Eliminating the limits with Lucky

Being blind from the age of 18 has not stopped a 36-year-old man from following his dreams in life.

Locally based Protus Lucky Shange recently launched his autobiography, titled Eliminating the Limits.

Shange said the book is to tell readers that everything in life is possible. “It develops the winning mentally of saying ‘nothing is impossible, I can do it’. Basically, it indicates the possibilities of achieving one’s goals regardless of any challenges. I am glad to finally find strength to narrate just how God has blessed me to live two lives in the space of 36 years.

Shange wrote and published his book with the help of the latest technology last year. A screen-reading app helped him in writing the book on his computer, which took him about three years. “It took me this long because I was studying at the same time,” he said.

“I just woke up blind one day. I was hospitalised for two years and three months, after which I was moved to the Eastern Cape to start a new life at a new school. Everything was new, altogether,” he said.

Besides losing his sight, Shange proceeded with his education at tertiary level. He initially received his BA degree in Criminology. After not finding a job for some time, he went back to the same University of KZN to pursue a post-graduate diploma in Leadership and Management. He has worked for the Department of Education in Limpopo while studying part-time for his other accolades.

Shange currently works for the provincial SASSA. To get your copy of Shange’s book, call him on 083-467-2733 or buy it from Amazon online.
