Foundation calls on communities to join hands and pray

The Brave Stones Build Nations in Mashishing is a local foundation that aims to play a role in building a better and safer community in Lydenburg, Mashishing and surrounding areas.

The community currently experiences an increase in the number of deaths due to the Covid-19 pandemic which leaves many families traumatised. It is against this background that the whole community is requested to join hands in a mass prayer.
“We are requesting that all churches ring their bells at 19:00 on Thursday January 27 at 19:00 as a sign of unity, compassion and cry unto the Lord to see the pain and tears of the community,” said the organiser, Nsizwa Nyundu.
Due to the level-three regulation of the pandemic, the mass prayer cannot take place in a church. The residents are requested and invited to stand in their front door or gate and pray for five to 20 minutes. The people that are working night shifts are also invited to pray in their workplace.
The Bible verse lending inspiration to this mass prayer is 2 Chronicles 7:14: If my people which are called by name, shall humble themselves, pray and see my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will heal their land.
The prayers are for the healing of all Covid-19 patients and any other diseases, for comforting all bereaved families including those who have already buried their loved ones, for thanking God for the rainfall, for job opportunities for unemployed people, business opportunities, matric results, the safety of learners and teachers, the safety of all health workers, the safety of workers in any organisation, and for those coping with alcohol and drug abuse.
For more information or if a special prayer is needed, phone Nyundu at 072-568-2342.
