According to Road Agency Limpopo (RAL) CEO, Gabriel Maluleke, the project RAL/T866/2016, which entailed upgrading the gravel road, was halted in 2016 due to the communities’ dissatisfaction with the previous contractor.

The 19,7-kilometre road estimated to cost R66 million, is expected to begin immediately and be completed in November.

The road intersects various villages between Ga-Mashabela and Magadimane in the Fetakgomo Tubatse Local Municipality.

Masemola said, “I have the hope that if we work together and share ideas, this time around the project will be a success.”

TMG Radebe Trading was introduced as the new contractor. The company is expected to work with
local SMMEs and labourers around the affected communities to complete the project succesfully.
