Booysendal Platinum Mine officially handed over the rehabilitated portion of Potgieter Street and a section of De Clerq Street to Thaba Chweu Local Municipality (TCLM).

The project started in 2020 and was fully funded by the mine as part of its social responsibility programme. Friddah Nkadimeng, executive mayor of TCLM, received the finished project on behalf of the municipality and thanked Booysendal Platinum Mine for its immense contribution towards the development of the town and hoped for the the partnership to be sustained for the implementation of similar initiatives in the future. The dire state of the roads in Lydenburg prompted this multi-million rand project by Booysendal.
