Bunny Gift boxes

These boy or girl gift boxes are perfect for collecting Easter eggs. They’ll love storing their Easter eggs in them.

You will need

Method

  1. Download the bunny box template and print it onto the white card.
  2. Cut out the box.
  3. Fold along the lines on the template using a ruler. Fold inwards with the printed side on the outside.
  4. Apply glue to each of the marked sections.
  5. Glue each tab to the side of the box that’s directly next to it. Press to secure.
  6. Decorate and fill.

Make your own paper maché

Mix 1 part flour and 2 parts water. Microwave on full and stir every minute until the paste is thick. Allow to cool.

Create an animal bowl

These are fun to make and can be used to store trinkets when all the eggs are eaten.

You will need

  • Balloon
  • Paintbrush
  • Craft glue
  • Tissue paper in various colours
  • Cardboard in various colours
  • Black marker
  • Pom-poms
  • Feathers
  • Scissors
  • Shredded paper

Method

  1. Blow up the balloon and tie closed.
  2. Cut the tissue paper into small pieces.
  3. Spread glue or paper maché paste onto the balloon with the paintbrush and stick on the tissue paper. Make sure each piece is completely soaked in the paste.
  4. Apply about 4 to 5 layers of tissue paper to cover half the balloon.
  5. Place into a mug and allow to dry completely.
  6. Snip a small hole in the balloon at the knot to deflate and remove from inside the bowl.
  7. Trim the edges of the bowl to the desired shape and neaten the edges.
  8. Decorate with paper, marker, feathers, and pom-poms.
  9. Fill with shredded paper and Easter eggs.

Egg carton bunny and chick

The kids will love making these silly bunnies and chicks

You will need

  • Egg carton
  • Scissors
  • Small pom-poms
  • Feathers
  • Coloured paper
  • Masking tape
  • Craft glue
  • Paintbrush
  • Pink, yellow, and baby blue paint
  • Black marker

Method

  1. Cut out 2 egg compartments and trim off any excess.
  2. Place the trimmed egg cartons on top of each other with the tops matching.
  3. Attach the two halves with a small piece of masking tape on the inside and outside.
  4. Paint the egg cartons and pieces of masking tape and allow them to dry.
  5. Draw and cut out feet, ears, and beak and glue into place.
  6. Glue on feathers and draw on eyes.
  7. Fill with speckled eggs.
