The We Love Lydenburg group, the P.R.I.D.E. initiative and the Lydenburg/Mashishing Business Chamber took to the streets on Wednesday March 31. They concentrated on Viljoen, Church and Voortrekker streets. A challenge was also forwarded to the Thaba Chweu Local Municipality to fix the potholes and signs on these roads before the long weekend. This project is based on the Sabie P.R.I.D.E. project initiated in August 2011. P.R.I.D.E stands for “picking up our rubbish, restoring our beauty, investing in our future, doing it together and enjoying the results”. Some businesses donated black bags, their time and employees, who worked in the hot sun the whole day to give tourists a better impression of the town.
