Tshepo Foundation’s needy receive grocery and clothing donation

"We learned of challenges experienced by the people at the Tshepo Foundation and decided to assist. I felt it was vital to give back to the needy. We handed over groceries that included maize meal, tinned foods, veggies and many more basic food items."

BURGERSFORT – The disabled people of the Tshepo Foundation in Bothashoek were on cloud nine when they were donated groceries and clothes on Saturday.

The much-needed donations were handed over by a local Good Samaritan, Mpho Ngoepe, and the management of Little Rascals Preschool. The crèche is based in Burgersfort Ext 10.

Ngoepe said she volunteered to assist the centre in celebration of Women’s Month. “We learned of challenges experienced by the people at the Tshepo Foundation and decided to assist. I felt it was vital to give back to the needy. We handed over groceries that included maize meal, tinned foods, veggies and many more basic food items.”

Yolandi Coetzee of Little Rascals said they enjoyed bringing smiles to the needy and disabled.

“They were happy indeed. We will work closer with the centre to assist in any way we can. The food and clothes handed over will last them for the upcoming months.”

Most of the people at the Tshepo Foundation were born with cerebral palsy. Dineo Twala, the founder of the foundation, thanked the donators for their kindness.

“We have more than 10 disabled people who have different challenges and some are teenagers. They have been carried around up until now, or have had to stay at home,” said Twala. She pleaded with locals to assist with donations to erect a proper shelter. “Currently, I take care of the disabled in my parents’ home. They come and visit on a weekly basis. Any donation to the kids is vital, be it small or large.” Twala may be contacted on 072 077 1327.
