Martial arts finest brings 26 medals home after Lowveld Open

Evolution Tournament is the next competition on the taekwando calendar for this Lydenburg club.

The action was fast and furious when the Choegang TaekwondoClub from Lydenburg participated in the Lowveld Open Martial Arts Championships.

It took place in Mbombela on Saturday September 17 at the Wolves Martial Arts Academy.

The club participated against nine other clubs. The 12 students who participated won 26 medals in total.
Five gold medals, 13 silver medals and eight bronze medals were presented to them.

The representatives of the club were Leon Snyders (coach), Monique Jordaan, Magda van der Linde, Johan Greeff, André Crouse,
Zene Crouse, Mekylie Niemand, Elje Kok (coach), Willem Kok (instructor), WJ Vorster, Adam Belgith, Duan Botha, Francois, Greeff, Isabella Botha and Aws Belgith.

Willem Kok, the owner of the club and an instructor, said it was a great privilege for the club to take part in the Lowveld Open Martial Arts Championships. The next event is the Evolution Tournament on Saturday November 12 in Mbombela.
