Swimmers from Lydenburg chosen to represent 2022 Special Olympics SA National Summer Games

About 800 athletes will compete in athletics, football, golf, netball, swimming and table tennis during the games.

Five members of the Estralita Special School swim team were chosen to compete in the 2022 Special Olympics SA National Summer Games.
The school was overjoyed about this news when they held a special practice session on Saturday October 29 at Lodge Laske Nakke.

The games will take place at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane from November 16 to 20.
The coach, Diana Munro, could not contain her excitement and said the learners had put in very long hours into the pool to qualify.

The acting principal of Estralita, Thabitha Nyalungu, said the school could not be more proud of the learners.
Jody Swanepoel, an educator, was chosen as the district co-ordinator for the Bohlabela Special Olympics team.
Estralita Special School would like to thank all the sponsors who donated sports bags, backpacks, and other gear for the swimming kits.
