SPONSORED | DCM’s ESD programme plans to uplift SMMEs
The annual Enterprise Supplier Development programme will last for six months.
Dwarsrivier Chrome Mine’s (DCM) annual Enterprise Supplier Development (ESD) programme started on November 28, 2024, facilitated by the Limpopo Economic Development Agency. The programme will last for six months.
According to DCM, it offers local Small, Medium and Micro Enterprises (SMMEs) business development training that equips them with the necessary skills and knowledge to run their businesses more successfully and with more confidence.

At the opening ceremony, Remember Mmbengwa, DCM’s Sustainable Development Manager, welcomed all SMMEs and highlighted that good mannerisms and knowing business language are essential skills for business success. “Without proper business training, we find many of our local small business owners and entrepreneurs facing significant hurdles to operating successfully. They struggle when encountering some of the challenges in the business sector. This has led to DCM committing to an annual business training programme to upskill and empower its local SMMEs,” said Mmbengwa.
A lot of business skills will be acquired through this training, but it does not end there. These skills will be of good value.

He further elaborated that business language is crucial for effective communication in the professional world, as it allows entrepreneurs to clearly articulate their ideas and build strong relationships with clients in this globalised economy in which diverse cultures and languages are prevalent.
All the SMMEs showed enthusiasm and readiness for six months of training that will make their businesses operate succesfully.
