The decomposed body of a woman was found in bushes near the traffic department on Kamagugu Road on June 30. The deceased is believed to have been in her 20s.

Police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Jabu Ndubane confirmed that the body was discovered by a foreign national who had been in hiding following the March and March protests.

“Police found a used condom at the scene, and the deceased’s breasts had been cut off. The circumstances suggest that she may have been sexually assaulted,” Ndubane said.

Police have opened an inquest and are appealing to members of the public to come forward with information that could help identify the deceased.
