SAPS strengthens communication ties with media

The sessions strive to smooth communication lines between the police and media practitioners.

The SAPS in Limpopo has reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining a healthy, transparent and professional relationship with the media following a series of communication forums held across the province.

The engagements highlighted the importance of strong partnerships between SAPS and media stakeholders in enhancing accountability, building public trust and ensuring the dissemination of accurate and verified information to communities.

The forums, which form part of ongoing stakeholder engagement, provided a platform for media representatives to interact directly with SAPS management. Concerns and inputs were raised and addressed with clarity, reinforcing the importance of open communication.

Participants described the relationship as constructive and mutually beneficial, expressing satisfaction with the continued collaboration.

The sessions were held across all districts, starting at Sibasa Hall in the Vhembe District on February 17, followed by the Mopani District Offices in Giyani on February 24, the Waterberg District FCS Offices on March 3, and concluding at SAPS Hlogotlou in Monsterlus within the Sekhukhune District on March 10.

Limpopo provincial police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba said the forums aim to strengthen co-operation between SAPS and the media.

“This initiative promotes the accurate, timely and responsible dissemination of information to the public,” said Ledwaba.
