Throughout his life, Bodo Buschmann had a particular passion for powerful, fast open-top cars. And as a homage to the late founder of Brabus, the company has unveiled the Brabus Bodo Cabriolet.
Limited to just 77 units worldwide, the open-top 2+2-seater combines a coach-built carbon fibre body with active aerodynamics and two distinctive launch configurations.
The ‘Piano Black’ model features a matching black soft top, while the ‘Silk Stone’ variant is equipped with a specially developed two-tone black and grey Jacquard roof covering.
735kW and 1200Nm
At the heart of the Brabus Bodo Cabriolet is a 5.2-litre V12 biturbo engine producing 735kW of power and 1 200Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission.
The convertible accelerates from 0-100km/h in just 3.0 seconds and reaches 300km/h in 23.9 seconds. Top speed is electronically limited to 360km/h.
The bespoke 22-inch Brabus Monoblock Z-GT ‘Platinum Edition’ forged wheels are fitted with specially developed Pirelli P Zero high-performance tyres carrying an exclusive ‘BB’ sidewall marking.
Masterpiece interior
Inside, both launch cars feature the same Brabus masterpiece cockpit that are interpreted through two individual colour and material concepts.
The characteristically black supercar combines ‘Saddle Brown’ leather and exposed carbon fibre in an unmistakable specification inspired by Bodo Buschmann.
While the ‘Silk Stone’ model translates its unique exterior colour into the leather, trim and carbon-fibre elements of the interior.

“The Brabus Bodo is both the next step for the brand and a tribute to my father, Bodo Buschmann,” says Brabus CEO and owner Constantin Buschmann.
“The name and the story behind it are a deliberate homage to him. I must have talked to him about a project like this a hundred times.
“In the end, we had to work eight years to make this dream a reality – and now, we’re taking it one step further with a bold, progressive cabriolet designed in every detail as he would have driven it.”

Want one? Each Brabus Bodo Cabriolet will be individually manufactured in this limited series according to the wishes of its buyer.
The base price is listed at 1 077 000 Euros before our government adds around 65% to that bill. So, about R35 million, and it could be yours if you were ever to get on the list of 77.
