SBV offers R1m reward after cash heist

The suspects attacked and robbed a crew of four of SBV's protection officers while they were travelling near the Long Tom Pass in the Nelspruit area.


SBV Services is offering a R1 million reward for information leading to the successful arrests and conviction of the perpetrators who, earlier this morning, attacked and robbed a crew of four of the company’s protection officers while they were travelling near the Long Tom Pass in the Nelspruit area.

Mark Barrett, CEO of SBV Services South Africa commended his team for bravely attempting to defend the violent attack, Berea Mail reported.

“We are working with the authorities on the investigation and will not spare any resources in our efforts to ensure that the individuals responsible are brought to justice. SBV makes ongoing investments in technology, security systems and our vehicles. Furthermore, our professional investigations team works closely with the authorities and we support them in their efforts to fight against those who threaten our industry and society at large,” he said.

Unfortunately, the protection officers were injured in the attack and an undisclosed amount of cash was taken.

SBV Services has appealed to the public with information on this attack, or any other Cash-In-Transit related crimes to notify SBV Services or the SAPS immediately.
