Elderly woman dies in Johannesburg car crash

The driver and occupants of the other car were treated on the scene and transported by another private ambulance service to hospital for further treatment, Herbst said.


An elderly woman died when two cars collided at an intersections in Randburg, Johannesburg on Saturday afternoon, paramedics said.

Netcare 911 paramedics responded just after 2.30pm to reports of a car crash on the corner of Kapital and Malibongwe roads in North Riding in Randburg, Netcare 911 spokesman Shawn Herbst said.

“Reports from the scene indicate that two light motor vehicles were involved in a collision. Tragically an adult female front passenger was declared deceased on the scene.”

The driver and occupants of the other car were treated on the scene and transported by another private ambulance service to hospital for further treatment, Herbst said.
