Man killed trying to cross M4 in Durban

When paramedics arrived on the scene, the man showed no signs of life.


A pedestrian was killed last night at around 7pm while trying to cross the busy M4 highway in Durban, Northglen News reports.

According to Netcare 911’s Shawn Herbst the incident took place on M4 southbound opposite Virginia Airport.

“Reports from the scene indicate that an adult male was struck by a minibus taxi while crossing the road,” said Herbst.

He said the pedestrian was assessed on scene by a Netcare 911 Emergency Care Practitioner and found to have traumatic injuries and no signs of life.

“He was declared deceased on the scene,” he added.
