The suspect allegedly told the officers : 'Let’s talk,' when they asked permission to search the vehicle.

Police undercover officers have arrested a motorist who was transporting drugs worth R100 000 hidden in the metal frames of mini braai stands, in Birchleigh North, on the East Rand.

The officers, who were in an unmarked police Provincial Narcotics Investigation Unit vehicle, made the arrest last Friday on Baxter Street after establishing that the suspect was hiding something, Kempton Express reported.

He apparently told the officers: “Let’s talk,” when they asked permission to search the vehicle.

The drugs were bound with sellotape and shoved into the metal frames of 14 mini braai stands.

The drugs will be submitted to police forensic officers to confirm if they are ephedrine, as suspected.

The 30-year-old suspect appeared in Kempton Park Magistrates’ Court on charges of drug possession and drug dealing.
