Randfontein woman held abroad for drugs

The woman has been stranded in Brazil for more than a month after allegedly being caught with drugs.


A woman from Mohlakeng was arrested during a drug bust in February this year, and is being held for alleged drug possession in São Paulo, Brazil, Randfontein Herald reports.

Brigadier Jacob Manamela, Randfontein station commander, confirmed that the matter is currently under investigation by Interpol.

“According to the Interpol information, she was arrested for being in possession of drugs,” he said, adding the matter was still an allegation.

The Randfontein Herald will be conducting an exclusive interview with the suspect’s mother on 20 April.
