Come on Chiefs fans, your team needs you more now

A Facebook friend posted on the social network on Saturday afternoon that he would rather watch Orlando Pirates lose than watch his favourite Kaizer Chiefs win these days.

Trust me, he is not the hard core ones who hate anything Pirates just because they are sworn Khosi-4-Life. He is one of those who do appreciate and commend when the Buccaneers are doing good - be it a good signing or good showing on the field. Trust me, he is not the hard core ones who hate anything Pirates just because they are sworn Khosi-4-Life. He is one of those who do appreciate and commend when the Buccaneers are doing good – be it a good signing or good showing on the field.

So what prompted him to make the statement he made, I hear you ask. Well. It is his deep seated hatred for the current Amakhosi coach, Ernst Middendorp that is driving him so far.

He says he now derives more pleasure from watching Pirates games – and they are not disappointing him with their current non-existent form.

His hatred for the German is unfair as it is based on things that happened a long time ago. We all make mistakes and sometimes we get arrogant and not admit to our misdemeanors.

Middendorp may have been wrong in the way he treated Scara Ngobese and Gert Schalkwyk back then but he is doing well now.

The team have been consistent in getting the required results – digging deep when the occasion requires like on Saturday against Cape Town City.

It is now that the supporters need to flock to FNB Stadium in large numbers to show their appreciation and also encourage them to keep up the good work.

I know the club’s PR and Marketing teams have been trying their best to push for large crowds but it is now time the supporters, especially in the Gauteng area also showed that they appreciate the efforts.

I told my friend this. And I hope he reads this so that he understands that I meant what I said. His beef with Middendorp is now rotten. He should throw it away and start afresh.
