Guptas are still in charge of ANC, says Malema

The EFF leader is convinced that the three influential politicians in the ANC's top six with alleged Gupta links are set to ensure the family remains in charge.

According to EFF leader Julius Malema, the ANC’s top six who were voted into power last night by more than 4 000 delegates will continue to bolster the power the Guptas apparently wield over Cabinet and the country.

Of the ruling party officials elected into the top six, three are understood to have ties to the Guptas.

Ace Magashule, the secretary-general, David Mabuza, the deputy president, and Jessie Duarte, the deputy secretary-general, are understood to have benefited from the party that was implicated in having bought a house for President Jacob Zuma’s son, Duduzane, and approved the appointment of several Cabinet ministers.

Magashule alleged funnelled millions to a Gupta wedding in 2013, and Mabuza allegedly benefited from the family, while Duarte’s son worked for the Guptas.

On Twitter, Malema said it would be difficult to recall Zuma, as he was still being protected by the corrupt ‘Premier League’.

Over the weekend, Malema also said Ramaphosa was no better than Dlamini-Zuma, as he would take the country to elite captors.

“CR17 will take the country to the sophisticated [captors] like the arrogant and white supremacist Ruperts and Oppenheimers, and NDZ17 will continue the hubby’s legacy of mediocre [captors] like Indian supremacist Guptas. Different sides of the same coin,” he tweeted.
