Taxi driver busted with newspaper clipping as licence disc

The image has been circulating, and according to the Arrive Alive picture, the driver was given a ticket.


The ongoing battle between taxi drivers and metro police officials continues, but no one expected to see this recent turn of events on Tuesday afternoon when metro police spotted a new invention of a licence disc.

Arrive Alive posted a picture of a Johannesburg metro police officer N Zitha writing down a ticket for a taxi that used a newspapers cutting as a licence disc.

Arrive Alive wrote a small caption next to the picture that said: “Welcome to South Africa where a taxi driver used a newspaper as a license disc.”

The image seems to have gained popularity on social media, raking in more than 65 shares and counting on Facebook.
