Pedestrian killed in Pretoria east

The man was found lying in the middle of the road early on Sunday morning.

A pedestrian was killed early on Sunday morning in the east of Pretoria, Pretoria East Rekord reports.

The man, believed to be in his late forties, was run over by a vehicle between Solomon Mahlangu and Rubenstein drives.

ER24 emergency services arrived on the scene around 02:00, where they discovered the man lying in the middle of the road.

“Upon assessment, paramedics found that the man sustained fatal injuries,” said ER24 spokesperson Ineke van Huyssteen.

“He was declared dead on scene.”

The cause of the accident is not yet known, but a police investigation is underway.
