“The two had been drinking alcohol in the family garage when an argument ensued and the 35-year-old failed to control his anger which resulted in the 29-year-old being [allegedly] stabbed under the right arm with a sharp object,” said the spokesperson for Rabie Ridge Police Station Captain Mofana Matsobane Masela.

The victim bled for a while and eventually succumbed to his injuries and died on the spot.

“A case of murder has been opened and the suspect has been arrested and is due to appear in Tembisa Magistrates’ Court soon to face murder charges,” said Masela.

He said the growing number of murders taking place in the area was concerning for the station.

“Most of these criminal activities including murder and robberies are a result of alcohol abuse. We call on our community to behave in a decent manner and educate one another when enjoying themselves in order to remain safe,” concluded Masela.
