Shem, Maimane is a good man, says Malema

'Moruti' Maimane is not leading the party as 'those whites' are giving him a tough time, says the EFF leader.

In a press conference at the party’s offices in Braamfontein on Thursday, EFF leader Julius Malema criticised the DA for “undermining” its leader, Mmusi Maimane. Malema was referring to the drama in the party that saw Helen Zille being suspended on Wednesday.

He said the process undermined Maimane on every level, accusing DA federal chairperson James Selfe of being the one who was telling Maimane how to do things. Maimane suspended Zille in a press conference, but the “Baas” told him to wait for 48 hours, he added. The actual time given was 72 hours.

“Each time we say moruti (pastor) is not leading the party, you say no, those whites are giving him a tough time, they are undermining him,” he said, further calling him a “good man”. Maimane is a trained pastor.

In fact, one of the reasons the EFF voted with the DA in Tshwane and Joburg was to “protect” Maimane “because he is black”.

The EFF further slammed the DA for “undermining” the “people” by suspending Zille from the party but still keeping her as Western Cape premier. He further threatened to take away his party’s votes if they did not suspend her as premier.

He said the party was busy calling for Zuma to step down as they protected Zille.

“They must be warned. They will remain with Western Cape and we will take Tshwane and the rest.

“No party must love individuals more than the party. If they don’t suspend her as premier we will take our vote back!

“We voted to remove ANC not to sustain white supremacy and arrogance,” he said.

The problem with the DA, according to Malema, was that the party was “forward” and did not take advice from anyone. They were apparently told to withdraw the motion of no confidence in President Jacob Zuma in March, in order for the application for a secret ballot to be resolved first, but they initially did not.

“DA must change their attitude or we will take away our bite and they will lose these municipalities,” he warned.
