The South African Weather Service (Saws) has released its latest weather forecast for Sunday, 01 June 2025.
The weather service predicts fine and cool to warm conditions; however, it will be partly cloudy over the northeastern parts of South Africa as well as along the southwest coast, with possible damaging waves along the south coast.
Weather warnings: Sunday, 01 June
The forecaster issued a fire danger warning, with extremely high fire danger conditions expected in the Beaufort West municipality of the Western Cape.

Provincial weather forecast
Here’s what to expect in your province on Sunday, 01 June 2025:
Gauteng:
Residents of Gauteng can expect morning fog patches with fine and cool weather, but warm weather in the north.
The region’s expected UVB sunburn index is “very high”.
Residents should take the necessary precautions against prolonged sun exposure.
Mpumalanga:
Morning fog in the Lowveld, where it will be warm, otherwise fine and cool.
Limpopo:
Morning fog along the southern escarpment, otherwise fine and cool to warm.
North West:
Fine and cool to warm weather awaits North West residents.
Free State:
Residents of the Free State will experience fine and cold to cool conditions.
Northern Cape:
Fine and cool to warm, but cold in places in the west. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh southerly to south-easterly.
Western Cape:
Fine and cool to cold, with partly cloudy conditions in the south-west.
The wind along the coast will be light and variable north of Robben Island, otherwise moderate to fresh north-westerly to westerly, reaching strong at times along the south coast.
The expected UVB sunburn index: Low
Eastern Cape (western half):
Cloudy with fog in places over the interior in the morning, otherwise fine and cool. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh southwesterly.
Eastern Cape (eastern half):
Cloudy with mist in places south of the escarpment in the morning, otherwise fine and cool.
The wind along the coast will be light northerly at first, otherwise moderate to fresh south-westerly.
KwaZulu-Natal:
Fine and cool but warm conditions in the north-east of the province.
The wind along the coast will be light to moderate westerly to north-westerly, becoming light to moderate north-easterly in the afternoon, reaching fresh in the north.
