South Africa’s first student music festival is around the corner and it is going to be part of National Braai Day!
If you don’t yet have your tickets for PotchVegas, it’s time to get up and do it before you miss out on a never before witnessed music festival in Potchefstroom!
After years of experience, collaboration and planning hundreds of events across South Africa with student residences of universities, in 2016 Partyfest X will be launching PotchVegas at Senwes Park in Potchefstroom from 22 to 25 September.
‘We are going to do something that hasn’t been done in Potchefstroom yet,’ says Lian Fourie, founder of PotchVegas.
Not only will this festival stand as a private sanctuary to protect student/social life as a whole, but will also boost the economy of Potchefstroom as it is set to bring in millions as the general public is also welcome.
PotchVegas will create the ultimate student environment for all students growing towards an international standard.
‘We are also focused on having different music genres for different clientele and we, therefore, have three different areas of entertainment with one of them being the mind-blowing main stage, giving a mixture of international and SA’s best artists and DJs,’ says Lian.’We are also using this platform to promote and grow national student talent for up and coming artists and DJs.’
The charity aspect is also very important to them and they will be donating R10 per pass sold for PotchVegas to the best cause relevant to their festival. Already, over R30 000 has been raised.
The food stalls they will have will also cater for different tastes in foods as we all know this is a very important part of any festival.

Here are some of the amazing acts in the line-up:

The four-year plan is to make this an international “student music festival” being one of the “must-dos” of your student calendar globally.
‘It is time to write our own story and let the world come and explore it as I have had some of the best experiences right here in SA.’
In their main stage line-up, they have well-known artists like Black Coffee, Albairre, Jack Parow, Euphonik, Francois Van Coke, DJ Kent, DJ Royal K, Monark, Goodluck, Matthew Mole, Brandan Peyper, Radio Raps and more.
Stage B and the Klipdrift tent will switch between music genres to suit a wider range of tastes and personalities.
Day passes are available as follows:
Day 1 – R150,

Day 2 – R200,

Day 3 – R250 (National Braai Day/Heritage Day),
