A Charitable Concert for a Worthy Cause

This concert is not just about music – it’s about giving children an opportunity to shine. Amira herself knows the power of music in shaping young lives. At just seven years old, Amira started an initiative to raise funds for playgrounds across Potchefstroom, and now, ten years later, she’s continuing her mission by sharing her talent with the next generation.

“Children from townships and farm schools often don’t have access to performance opportunities,” says Frieda Brand, project manager at Gelukskinders. “This concert is all about giving those talented children a chance to be on stage, to build confidence, and to showcase their skills.”

Making a Difference

The Gelukskinders Foundation’s mission is to provide equal opportunities for children, especially those in underserved communities. In addition to playgrounds, the foundation has also invested in providing sports equipment, uniforms, and facilities for local schools. In 2024, they’ll be hosting a major football tournament for 43 schools in the area. This concert is another step in their ongoing efforts to create positive change for the children of Potchefstroom. The “Musicality Team” is producing the whole music production and the NWU will assist in regard with the Netball tournament in 2025.
