1. Police netball comes to Potch

The police has been in the South African spotlight for all the wrong reasons this year. Police are getting murdered and others seem unfit for their jobs. Potchefstroom saw police in a brighter and more active fashion with the hosting of the SAPS National Netball Championships at the NWU Pukke netball courts this week.

The ladies have been put through their paces as different provinces competed against each other for the title. The talent was evident on the court and the camaraderie between officers are commendable. This tournament is evidence that sport has once again brought people together.

2. Luiperds moet hierdie keer beker huis toe bring

3. The devotion of a football fan

I believe that the devotion of a South African football fan holds no bounds – this viewpoint escalated when I went to the Jomo Cosmos and Sundowns match this past Sunday.

Devout football fans from Cosmos and Sundowns were in opposite sections of the stadium to the keep peace. Sundowns fans came from far to watch their team. Some of their super fans, complete with the Oxford Concise Dictionary on hand were in full voice. They always seem to be at every game in the same colours supporting their teams no matter what. I hope they are appreciated, because without them sport would be very dull (and deafeningly quiet.)
