Caster Semenya has realised her Olympic dream with a brilliant gold medal performance to send the entire SA nation into delight early this Sunday morning.

There was never any doubt as the Potchefstroom based Semenya hit the final 300 metres of the 800m final at the 2016 Rio Olympics. Semenya showed her power and speed and easily won the race to bring home South Africa’s second gold medal on the track.

Semenya also set a new national record with her time of 1:55.28 to put the icing on the cake.

This is a thoroughly deserved win for Semenya, who has proved her doubters wrong and shown the entire world her champion pedigree.
