Jomo Cosmos are on a high after producing their finest display this year on Sunday at Olën Park against Amazulu.
The Ezenkosi achieved their biggest win of the season with a 4-1 drubbing.
Kevin Ndayisenga playing his first game for Cosmos put the Ezenkosi in the lead after being put through by the skillful Tebogo Tlolane.
Amazulu were then dealt a blow after Augustine Ramphele was given a red card for a dangerous play on Denzil Haoseb. Hoaseb had to be carried off on a stretcher after the dangerous tackle.
Cosmos were intent on doubling lead towards the half time. Ezenkosi were given a free kick and Tebogo Tlolane converted the free kick with a sweet left foot strike to steer the Ezenkosi towards victory.
After the interval, Jomo Sono’s men were on the back foot as they were allowing the visiting team space in the final third. Amazulu’s veteran striker Siyabonga Nomvethe brought them back with a goal in the 70th minute.
At 2-1 Cosmos still had the advantage and Mxolisi Macuphu put the contest beyond reach as he pounced on a loose ball to score the third goal. It was proving to be a long afternoon for Usuthu with Tlolane entertaining the crowd with a dose of his skills and that culminated in Linda Mntambo netting the fourth goal of the day. Cosmos’ next match is against Cape Town All Stars at Olën Park on Sunday 23 October.
