Tennis action of the highest quality is currently on display at the 2017 Growthpoint RVTA SA Junior Masters at the Fanie du Toit Sport Grounds of the NWU-Pukke in Potchefstroom 12-15 October.

The tournament is a showcase of South Africa’s top young talent with the top 96 boys and girls players battling it out for top spot in an intense three day tournament.

The Riaan Venter Tennis Academy (RVTA), an affiliate of the NWU, is the proud host of this prestigious tournament and according to manager at RVTA, Riaan Venter, the action on the courts have been spectacular.

“We have the top tennis players from u.12, u.14, u.16 and u.18 level here in Potchefstroom. Here is where players can get fantastic competition and also get the opportunity to impress the selectors who keep their eye on the talent of tomorrow,” said Venter.

According to Venter some of the players to look out for is current number one Philip Henning (u.18) from Grey College in Bloemfontein and Maja Gledic from Cape Town (u.18).

“Both players have massive potential with Philip having already won 6 ITF tournaments in a row, prior to the Junior Masters,” added Venter.

Potchefstroomers are encouraged to make their way to the Fanie du Sports Grounds at the RVTA Tennis Courts to watch the action this weekend as the cream of crop will battle for trophies on finals day this Sunday.
