The North West Flames are back with a bang with five big consecutive wins on the trot in the Brutal Fruit Netball Premier League.
After losing to the Southern Stings in their first match of the campaign, they have gone on a red-hot streak with two major victories this past weekend against the KZN Kingdom Stars (56–33) and Gauteng Fireballs (50–27). The victory against the Fireballs was especially sweet for the Flames’ head coach, Elsje Jordaan who beat her former team, which, ironically, is being coached by the former Flames coach, Dorette Badenhorst.
It was a clinical and consummate display by the North West team, which showcased its superiority and championship pedigree. The wing defence, Chanté Bester was named the player of the match against the Fireballs.
The Flames are currently in third place on the log with 10 points after six matches.
The Flames, fourth-placed Free State Crinums and second-placed Stings are tied on 10 points, separated only by goal difference.
