The North West University (NWU), in conjunction with the Riaan Venter Tennis Academy (RVTA) and Tennis South Africa (TSA) are breaking new turf this year. They have revealed that grass, clay and hard court surfaces will form part of the NWU Tennis Development project in Potchefstroom.

The announcement resounded at the NWU Riaan Venter Tennis Academy courts on Tuesday, 26 February with a host of media houses, dignitaries from the NWU and Tennis South Africa’s president, Gavin Crookes in attendance.
The deadline for these courts to be completed is in June/July 2019. A total of five new clay courts, two new grass courts and the refurbishment of the existing hard courts will form part of the project.
