After 9 successful years at the helm of the Leopards Rugby Union, adv. André May, has decided to pass the baton to a new leader of the pack.
May, who has served a succesful term since taking the top position in April 2010, has decided to leave the post in order to focus on his advocate practice and to give his full attention towards his chosen profession. May’s love for rugby cannot be quenched and will still play a key role with his expertise in the local rugby community and structures.
“It has been an enormous privilege to serve as the President of the Leopards Rugby Union from April 2010. However, the time has now arrived to give a new generation the opportunity to take over the leadership at the Leopards Rugby Union,” May stated.

“Additionally, the requirements of my practice as an advocate has reached a stage where I am no longer able to give the attention to the position of President of the Leopards Rugby Union, that it deserves. Surely no one can dispute that a term of 9 years can in no other way be interpreted than being sufficient. It is therefore against this background that I confirm that I will not be available for re-election on 16 April 2019.”
“I thank you all for the support that you have given me over the past few years and wish the Leopards Rugby Union and Saru only the very best for the future,” he said.
