Van Wyk will join his fellow sprinters, Emile Erasmus, Anaso Jobodwana, Akani Simbine, Thando Roto and Simon Magakwe in the South African team for the 4x100 m event.

ACNW’s top male sprinter, Chederick van Wyk, not only racked up two medals in the 100 m (bronze) and 200 m (silver) events at the SA Track and Field Championships but also qualified for the 2019 IAAF World Relays in Yokohama, Japan from 12 to 13 May.

The 4x200m team that Van Wyk will also join, consists of Luxolo Adams, Sinesipho Dambile, Gardeo Isaacs, Ashley Hlungwani, Thapelo Phora and Jon Seelinger.

“I’m thrilled with my performances, especially after putting in a lot of hard work. I didn’t expect the fantastic results but I am glad that I achieved this,” said Van Wyk, who aims to set a new national SA relay record in Japan at the IAAF World Relays.
