Kruger sisters flying SA flag high in Potch

Both Zoe and Isabella are the daughters of former Springbok, World Cup winning flank, Ruben Kruger.

The ITF Ilana Kloss International tournament currently taking place in Potchefstroom at the NWU Tennis Courts has seen numerous South African entries crash out in the first round in the past two days. One shining light has been South African tennis player, Zoe Kruger, who progressed to the second round with a win against Canadian, Carol Zhao by 4-6 6-4 6-4 in a pulsating match yesterday (Tuesday 9 February.)

Zoe (18) and her sister, Isabella (15), are both featuring in the ITF tournament in Potchefstroom with the latter going through to the second round after defeating Suzanie Pretorius 6-1, 6-1. Both are the daughters of former Springbok and 1995 World Cup winning flank, Ruben Kruger. Their dad passed away due to brain cancer in 2010. 

The Kruger sisters will also pair up to face Irina Fetecau (Romania) and Dejana Radanovic (Serbia) in doubles action later today. Zoe and Isabella will look to continue as far as she can in this tournament on home soil. She was once ranked as high as 526 on the WTA rankings.
