The North West Flames started the first half of the 2021 Telkom Netball League on a disappointing 46-53 losing note in their division 1 clash against the Western Cape Southern Stings in Pretoria.

This year the tournament will take place at two venues (Pretoria from 5-12 September) and Rustenburg from (9-17 October). The Flames will play six matches in the first week and four in the second week, playing a total of 10 matches, five against each division 1 side in total.

This loss against the Stings was not the best opening result for captain, Monique Reyneke and her young squad against a savvy Cape outfit.
The North West Flames will look to reach the semi-finals spots this year in a division consisting of the Gauteng Golden Fireballs, Free State Crinums, Gauteng Jaguars, Free State Crinums and Kwa-Zulu Natal Kingdom Stars. Their biggest challenge will be to dethrone the Gauteng Jaguars who has won the title every year since 2017.
